Records tumble in Valencia and Polish Parkrun

There were some record brealing performances. Simon Fitze broke Alan Ryder’s long standing record set at Taunton in 2009, and  Alison McEwing broke her own record set at Berlin last year.
Simon did 2.39.26 finishing 90th overall and 3rd in his age category. Alison did 2.46.31 and was 22nd female and 3rd in her age category.
Jeremy Westmore also took part in the race finishing in 3:51:57.Well done to all three of them. Also Graham Reed ran the Chilly 10K at Castle Combe race circuit. In rainy and windy conditions he did well to finish 7th in 35.12. Meanwhile we had a contingent that went to Poland and tacked the Gdansk Parkrun. I am sure they has an enjoyable weekend

Great performances at Westward League Cross Country

There were some great performances at the latest Westward League Cross Country on Sunday 7th December in Exeter.
The race also included the Devon Championships where we came away with several medals

The course was extremely wet and muddy after the recent rain and made for a real challenge.
Our best result was a brilliant 3ed place overall for Ben Holmes in the Senior Men’s race, that gave him the silver medal in the Devon Cahmpionships.
Charlie Milward was 49th overall and 3rd U20 in the Devon’s. Marc Rinagl was 3rd M45 in the Devon Champs as well.

In the Senior Women’s race both Sally Erith and Emma lake continued their domination of their age groups
They both lead after 3 races and Sally took home gold in F40 and Emma the gold in F45 category
Jenny Hayes was 2nd in the F50 championships
The team were overall 3rd senior team and 2nd Vet team in the Championships

Luke Hayes had a good run to take 6th place in the U17 men’s race which was 5th from Devon. He should be invited to run for the County.
Well done to our team of U13 girls who just missed out on a team medal in the Devon Champs by a few points.
Also well done to Molly Cole who made her club debut in the U15 girls race along with Eryn Hoey
Our U11’s did well particularly  with Will Rogers who was 8th U11 boy.
Fran Pickstone was 22nd girl and Ruby Ferrero-Lewis 32nd.
