Isabella and Luke in good form on Track

It was a quiet weekend on the roads this past weekend but Isabella Trowell was busy at Yeovil.
She was part of the winning Devon Schools Inter Girls team in the SW Schools Combined events championships.
The team managed to overhaul Gloucestershire in the final 800m race to take the tile by 7 points.
They will now compete in the final in Stoke in September.
Isabella also set a new points pb overall and also in Javelin and 200m.
Isabelle Joynes was our only athlete in the Peter Brend Open in Braunton.
She did the 75m and Vortex
On the previous Wednesday Luke Hayes  continued his great form breaking the U17M mile record which has stood for 34 years.
Luke’s time was a superb 4.44.49 to win the A race.
On the same night a trio of Erme Valley Harriers enjoyed a beautiful evening for the Solstice Fell Race at Merrivale last night – a five mile, very runnable, well marked and incredibly scenic route via Staple, Roos and Cox Tors. Becky Prall won her age category, finishing second lady and 38th overall, Peter Allen and Chris Prall were 8th and 10th overall. The races are incredibly friendly, welcoming and low key affairs, and open to runners of all abilities, both in terms of speed and navigation, so I would highly recommend giving one a go.

It is of course our relays on Friday and we are hoping for a successful evening. It is also the SW League on Sunday.
