EVH Junior Training now one session for school holidays

Well done to our juniors who did  the relays in Tavistock last Thursday (16th July)
The results are on the main post.

As from this Thursday  we will be running just one session for the school holidays on a Thursday
We may be having the occasional week off depending on coach availability. We will let you know

Entries are open for the Devon Open Track in Plymouth on Sunday 9th August
There are events for all ages and the U10 and U12 will do the Funetics Quadrathlon as before
Why not give it a go as we are getting to the end of the season

Relay action at Tavistock plus Lightning Bolt 10K

We had a number of teams in the Tavistock Relays last Thursday.
The race over a 1.1 mile circuit was held in warm, sunny conditions.
There were some good leg times run especially from our junior runners who did very well.
Our Over 45 ladies team were second in their category

On Sunday Simon Fitze and Ali McEwing did the Lightning Bolt 10k near Chippenham
Simon set a new V50 age group record of 34.41. He was 11th overall and 1st in his age cat.
Ali won the Ladies race in 35.54 just outside her best of 35.46 set in Exeter

I should have mentioned Christine Tout who completed 50 miles at the Hope festival
Well done to her

We were planning to have a team in the South Hames Relay on Sunday over the 100m new rote
I have not seen anything as to how they got on. Will updated later

Finally well done to Isabella Trowell and Freya Norris who were our only athletes in the SW Championships
held at Exeter on Sunday

Isabella took gold in the 100m Hurdles with  atime of 15.38 and silver in the 400m Hurdles (68.49)
She also recorded another 5m plus jump in the Long Jump (5.16)
Freya set two new pb’s with a 2.34.62 800m and a 7.15m Shot
Isabella is competing in the England U18 Championships this coming weekend

Training Update – Tuesday 21st July

It was another  warm one last Tuesday and most did the  speed session in Filham
held under the trees.

Tonight’s session is the Spirit of the Moor and also other routes in the cool areas.

Last Thursday’s junior training was cancelled as we all went to Tavistock for the Relays

Friday Training  back on again this week  as normal
Junior Training is on this week but is now one session from 6 until 7.15pm for the school holidays.
