Cross Country season begins at Newnham thisSunday 11th October

The new Westward League Cross Country season begins on Sunday 11th October with the following

Fixture 1 – Relays @ Newnham Park, Plymouth

This is a new format to start the season this season, many regions around the UK start Cross Country season with a relay event
and it’s seen as a good way to transition into Cross Country racing.
Each relay team will consist of 3 athletes, each athletes leg time will be used to calculate points for scoring in the league.
Athletes in incomplete teams will still score league points.
Prizes will be awarded to winning  teams in each age category*. If funds allow prizes will be awarded to teams finishing 2nd and 3rd in each age category.

*As per the league scoring for teams the masters category for the relays is any athlete of masters age i.e. v35 for women and v40 for men.

The course map is shown here >>>

There are races for both seniors and juniors.

Training Update – Tuesday 6th October

Please note Tuesday’s training session will now be the Spirit of the Moor not the final Handicap because Tom is away.
We wanted to try the new scanner being used in the Westward League at the Handicap which Tom has.
The weather looks good so we should get away with the light
There will be other routes as well

Remember the evenings are beginning to draw in so wear something  fluorescent

Thursday junior training is as normal
