Westward League Cross Country details published

Details of the first Westward League Cross Country at Newnham Park are now available
The course map is here >>> and details of the venue are shown here >>>

it is a superb venue really close to home and is a great start to the new season.
The club covers the cost of these races for members so is free to take part in.
There are races for all age groups as shown.
We also need help with the event so if anyone could act as a marshal please contact Keith
Becky Lee will once again be our team manager.

 

 

Training update and Fixtures

We returned to normal times last Thursday  September 5th. but had to meet inside because of the weather.
It was an amazing turnout of athletes. We will continue to meet inside now but may do some of the session outside.
The sessions will be from 5.4pm to 6.50pm for the U11’s and from 7 – 8pm for the older group

As a reminder the Cross Country and Sportshall season will begin in October.

Great Links Fell Race and New Forest Half

At the Great Links fell race held  last Saturday, Chris Prall was 12th in 40.56, whilst Jenny Hayes was 40th in
51.18 and 3rd female vet 40. Esme Prall was 2nd U11 in 18.45.
Liz Bristow ran in the New Forest Half Marathon finishing 444th in 1.56.02
In the final  Run Exe 5K race of the series  held last Tuesday in Exeter we had some good performances

Luke Hayes was 7th in 16.20
Jenny Hayes was 124th in 21.47 (2nd FV45)
Simon Swift 132nd in 22.19
Ken Summers 156th in 24.29 (4th V70)

In the series results Holly Jones was the winner of the Senior Women’s title, Nick Bristow was 3rd in the V50 category and Ken Summers was 3rd V70 overall.
Luke was the top U17 man.

The final Armada 5K of the summer takes place on Wednesday in Saltram – 7pm start.
