Training next Tuesday from Wrangaton for Spirit of the Moor

Just a reminder to all that we are starting our monthly Spirit of Moor runs from this Tuesday 20th April.
The sessions start at 6pm as normal but go from Wrangaton Golf Club and use the moors as a running route.
There will be still be varying distances for all the groups including the Couch to 5K runners.
This also includes the junior endurance runners.

We will still apply our usual COVID secure rules and must also ensure we do not run on the actual golf course.
Toilets will be open but only up to 6pm. No bar area as yet.

I have added details for the venue and how to find it here >>>

Also another reminder that our next 5k time trial takes place tomorrow (Sat 17th) in Filham at 9am
Please register in the car park by 8.45pm. Route is shown here >>>

The rest of the April routes are shown here >>>

5km Time Trial results plus latest EVH performances.

Well done to all those who came along to the 5km Time trail and thanks to all the marshals.
Turnout wasn’t as high but it was a sunny morning.

Latest Junior News – Return to Ivybridge Community College

We are returning to Ivybridge Community College for Junior Training from this Thursday from 6pm until 7pm.
We will be evaluating numbers after this week’s session with the probability that we will return to a two hour session from the following Thursday (22nd April)
This would be from 5.45 – 7pm for Under 11’s and then from 7 – 8 for the older athletes. There could be flexibility in who attends which session if either time is difficult for you.
Please let us know if this is the case.
We will confirm this by Monday of next week (19th) by a further email..

Can I just make everyone aware of the rules about training at the college.

1.  You should only attend if you are free of COVID symptoms. (any new attendees or non-paid up members will have to complete a COVID declaration form).

  1.  Parents need to drop off and pick up the athletes at the Sports Centre reception.
  2.  Parents are not allowed on the track areas or inside the Sports Centre at any time.
  3.  All athletes over 11 must wear a face mask except when actually training)
  4. Follow any one wat systems in place.
  5. If athletes need to use the toilets they must inform the coaches and Sports Centre staff.

Sorry if this sounds a bit strict but we have to follow the rules to use the facility.

There is the usual opportunity to train at the Brickfields, Plymouth on Saturday morning from 10 – 11.15 approx.
It is free but you need to book on via this link.
https://cityofplymouthathleticclub.wildapricot.org/event-4253249?CalendarViewType=1&SelectedDate=4/13/2021

We also have our next club 5k time trial (and Junior 2k) this Saturday at 9.00am in Filham Park
All welcome, please register by 8.45am in the car park. Marshals welcomed too.

In general we have to follow the guidelines issued by England Athletics shown here
Please read through and familiarise yourselves with the guidance.

The key things are to maintain social distancing as far as possible and avoid gathering even in small groups.
This does not apply to the athletes who can be in groups of up to 12 with a coach. However we will still try to minimise contact between the athletes.

Here is a Health Information sheet which everyone should read prior to attending

As previously stated all athletes who attend must be paid up members for 2021 or, if they are a new athlete, must have completed a COVID declaration form prior to taking part in any session.
The membership form contains a declaration automatically so it is vital we get everyone attending renewed.
To download a membership form please go to our website page here >>> and click on Junior Membership Form 2021.
Training fees are also due now for those members who haven’t paid. This is £25 for a term and can be paid into our Lloyds account.
