We will still maintain a paper register so don’t forget to check in.

Please remember the rules on social distancing at sessions before and after the runs. Please make sure you do not congregate in groups of more than 6 at any time and especially near the entrance to the Rugby Club car park. There is also a risk of an accident here with cars coming into the car park. Please ensure you follow the government guidelines on hygiene and of course the 2m rule still applies. If we all follow this then we can do our bit to stop the spread of the virus.

Latest Junior News – Junior Training moving to Ivybridge College and Tennis Centre

We need to update everyone on the situation with Erme Valley Harriers Junior Training.

We have been allowed to return to Ivybridge Community College on Thursday evenings, starting on 5th November, but only using the outdoor sprint track only. We will still therefore have to limit numbers. We have decided to continue with just a 1 hour session from 6-7pm for now and review at Christmas. Due to the hire cost we will have to start charging training fees again from January. We are training tonight for the last time at the Station Car Park. This session will be for the current group only. It is very unlikely we will be able to use the Sportshall in the near future. We will be providing further details for parents next week on how the sessions will run once the College have provided the information.
If anyone new would like to come along then they need to email me. You would also need to complete a permission slip

In addition we have been able to book a slot at the Tennis Centre on a Friday from 5-6pm starting next Friday 6th November. This indoor session will be for our younger athletes (ages 8 to 10) who have so far not been able to return to training. We will be able to accommodate 15 athletes at this session. I would ask that anyone interested in attending this session contact me by Monday 2nd November. I will then send you full info, a permission form and details of how to pay. You will need to book for seven sessions which will cost £17.50.

Priority will be given to our existing members but if there are spaces we will open it out to new members. It is important therefore to book your place.

Can I thank everyone for their patience in what I am sure  you agree has been a difficult period for the club.

Please get in touch if you need further details and keep an eye on the website.

Tuesday endurance sessions are taking place at the Rugby Club from 6 – 7. Again please email me if you wish to come along.
We are now able to utilize the Armada session on a Saturday morning from 10 – 12 at the newly refurbished Brickfields track starting this Saturday.
There is no charge but you will have to book via this system https://bookwhen.com/copac

There is an Endurance Track event taking place at Tavistock on Wed 11th November which will be mile races for U11 and U13 and 3000m for U15’s and above.
The age groups will have changed by then so it will be your age on August 31st 2021
Details on how to enter will follow.

Remember you can still access the training information that England Athletics have produced on https://www.englandathletics.org/about-us/athletics-at-home/

It contains a lot of useful resources including all the Athletics 365 information and videos which are extremely useful.
The recent monthly magazine The Harrier is now on there on the Harrier page.
