Return to club training plus latest virtual challenge

Hi All
We have now receivedΒ  confirmation from England Athletics that training and competition can resume from 29th March.

We will therefore be allowed to return to club training from Tuesday 30th March. The systems will be the same as before i.e. everyone will need to be club members (or a registered guest) booked in with the Covid officer and the venue must be Covid secure.
We will advise everyone of the plans once we have confirmed everything with our venue providers.
In the meantime we will continue with our virtual sessions.

Latest Junior News – Training ideas and support Week 7

As we all know club training is suspended due to the current lockdown.
We will hopefully be returning to Ivybridge Community College in early April but we will confirm this
Unfortunately we cannot offer any direct coaching at the moment but we are posting an online weekly programme here.

Training ideas for week beginning 22nd Feb.
Session 1.
Warm Up and drills. Try these >>>

Viaduct hills (or similar)
Starting at the bench, run to the top and jog back.
Start slower and get faster
Repeat 5 – 8 times.
Any hill will doo providing it is quiet

Warm down

Session 2

Tempo run over 1000m (flat course)
Run at slightly below race pace (heart rate 150 – 160)
Max 5 with a 1 min recovery

Session 3 (indoor or outdoor)

It is high intensity circuit

These are ideas only the key thing is to keep doing activity. Walking and cycling are also good.
